I am a Reiki Master trained at the London Reiki Academy as well the London College of Spirituality. Reiki healing is one of the most profound complimentary treatments I have come across, and this is why I decided to train in this modality. Reiki is wonderful as a treatment on its own, but it also enhances the benefits of other therapies.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a method of natural energy healing. This energy is channelled through the practitioner’s hands into the patient. Reiki is based on the belief that we have a subtle body of energy that flows throughout our physical body.  The Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine traditions call this energy prana, qi, or chi energy.

What can Reiki do for you?

One of the greatest Reiki healing health benefits is stress reduction and relaxation, which triggers the body’s natural healing abilities, improving and maintaining health. Reiki brings deep relaxation, sooths emotions and reduces negative feelings. One treatment is physiologically the equivalent of 3 to 4 hours deep sleep! This will leave you feeling deeply relaxed and uplifted, better equipped to face the stresses of modern life.

Imbalances in the body’s energy field can be caused from many situations occurring in our lives, for example: negative thoughts and feelings (including fear, worry, doubt, anger and anxiety), emotional or physical trauma, injury, toxicity, nutritional depletion and destructive lifestyle and relationships. If our life force energy is low-or if it is blocked, restricted, or unbalanced-we can experience fatigue, illness, pain, anxiety, negativity, or addictions.  But when our life force energy is balanced, blocked energies begin to break up and release. The Reiki energies work to bring balance and harmony to the whole self– physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.

What happens in a session?

During the Reiki session the practitioner places his or her hands very lightly on the body in a variety of positions. The patient is normally lying down and always remains fully clothed throughout the session, as Reiki is so powerful that it will even reach the body through a plaster cast.

Reiki healing can also be sent over distances, which is helpful if a client is ill or living in a different country. Distant healing is as effective as a hands-on session.
