Yoga

I am a certified Hatha Yoga and Sivanada Yoga Instructor (RYT 200), as well as a qualified Children’s Yoga Instructor. I thoroughly enjoy and adore instructing yoga to people of all ages and abilities. Having worked for a major yoga centre in London for several years in my past I have also often witnessed the many benefits that yoga can bring to people, including stress reduction, better sleep, clearer and more balanced mind and body and increased self+awareness.

For me, the multifaceted focus of Sivananda Yoga, including exercise, breathing, relaxation, diet and self-inquiry is the perfect match to my overall holistic approach and training as a therapist. Hatha yoga I love because it can be so transformative whilst being accessible, meaning everyone can incorporate it in to their lives in someways, and get great results.

As for kids yoga I believe that it is great for children in so many ways! Physically, it enhances their flexibility, coordination, strength and bodily awareness. But importantly, yoga for children is about so much more than just the physical. It fosters cooperation and compassion – instead of opposition – being a physical activity that is noncompetitive. The elements of play and creativity also helps connection with others, as well as with the inner self. In addition, when children learn techniques for self-health, relaxation, and inner fulfillment their concentration and sense of calm improves. In today’s hurry up world of busy parents, activity filled days, school pressures, online social worlds, video games, competition, focus on appearance etc. one can see that yoga offers children, from an early age and upwards, useful tools to navigate life’s challenges with a little more ease.
